Publicly Documented Policies
All of our policies are stated plainly and openly on this page. Here you will find our policies regarding selecting clients, billing, handling of financial and personal data, and other relevant policies and procedures.
Selecting Clients
We accept all client types:
for-profit
non-profit
other (solicitation for a specific purpose other than profit).
Right of Refusal
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason without notice.
Fees for Service
Every transaction will be assessed 5% of donation plus recovery of the fees charged by PayPal for the transaction. In general, this means that greater than 90% of each donation goes directly to the listing agent. There are no fees or charges for the donor. Donating is free.
Security of Donor Data
We do not collect personally identifiable information or financial information from donors. All donations are done through PayPal, a secure and trusted method for financial transactions.
Our Financial Responsibility
Our financial records are maintained by PayPal as a result of making a donation. Each transaction generates an entry in the account used by Spare-A-Dime.Org. A financial statement listing each and every transaction (including fees charged by PayPal) can be generated on-demand by Spare-A-Dime.Org on the PayPal web site. At the request of the listing agent, a PayPal financial statement, listing only those transactions relevant to the listing agent, will be produced.
Our Charity Status
We are not a 501(c)(3) public charity.
Charity Status of Listings
All listings are clearly labeled as tax-deductable or not. In order to have a tax-deductable label, a listing agent must:
specifically authorize Spare-A-Dime.Org to collect donations on their behalf
provide documentation regarding its charity status before it will be labeled as tax-deductable. Note also that for case a), the listing agent must be a legal agent of the charity in question.
Promotion
We do not promote your listing. We do not promote your organization. We will not mention any association with your organization without permission. We do promote our web site and services in order to increase awareness.
Other Services
We do not provide any services not listed on this web site.
We do not Consider Spare-A-Dime.Org a Professional Solicitor.
Our policies and procedures are designed such that we do not believe that we would be considered a professional solicitor. However, you must make that determination for yourself.
Listing of Charities without Permission
We do not list charities on this site without permission. We do, however, allow others to collect money for the purpose of donating that money to a charity. Our goal is to have charities confortble with our site and policies so that we can list them with permission. Please contact us to have your charity listed on our site.
